About Britta

Britta Hubbard is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, reader, skier, biker, and lover of interpersonal relationship and personal growth. For as long as she can remember she has been a natural educator and community builder bringing people together for joy and for learning.

When her eldest son was about three years old, Britta searched for parental support when she felt things were "not quite right" with her or her son. For a YEAR she sought help from doctors, parent educators, friends, and family but the most common response to her questions was, "he's just a boy." That answer did not seem quite right...  but thankfully, someone* finally had a different answer.  That same someone helped Britta and her husband change themselves, their family, their life.  That someone taught The Hubbards about the Redirecting Children's Behavior concepts and how to integrate them into their household.

Changing perspective on how to communicate and interact with their two children and learning how to better handle their own emotions was the basis of The Hubbards' new way of living.

These shifts, as stated, were rooted in the lessons taught in the Redirecting Children's Behavior course.  After much encouragement from loved ones and mentors, Britta decided to share her story and her passion for people and teaching by becoming a Redirecting Children's Behavior instructor. She hopes her instruction and support can help other parents and caregivers redirect behavior for less tension filled days at home and out in the world.

She has learned through all this parenting struggle and joy that behavior is neither good nor bad, but rather a form of communication - communication that speaks about needs, wants, and emotions. When Britta remembers this new perspective on behavior, she is the better for it (and so is her family).

Finally, she never wants any caregiver who is seeking help to hear "he is just a boy," or "he/she is just a teenager," or "your kid is just a bully," or something similar. She wants caregivers who seek help to be able to find it and have their homes and families be the better for it.
